Vodoo Lady

All right, this is the last post about Palin (for today at least). It was just too good to pass up. There is a video on Youtube right now that shows Palin being blessed by the pastor Thomas Muthee, a Bishop at the church in Wasilla that Palin attended regularly until 2002. Now, a preacher blessing one of his flock is hardly newsworthy. In fact, it probably happens more than once a day.

What makes this case so special, though, is that Muthee asks thar Palin not only be protected from Satan, but from witches. That’s right, witches, you know, they wear big pointy hats and ride on broomsticks. They usually have green skins and warts, and they’ll turn you into a newt if you’re not careful.

Now, everyone is entitled to their beliefs, and to be fair Palin is no longer a regular member of the congregation, but the video was taken in 2005 when Palin was preparing for her bid for governor.

The pastor also says: “Come on, talk to God about this woman. We declare, save her from Satan,” Muthee said as two attendants placed their hands on Palin’s shoulders. “Make her way my God. Bring finances her way even for the campaign in the name of Jesus. … Use her to turn this nation the other way around.”

This is a man who calls for god in schools so that children will not learn to worship Buddha and Mohammad. Any way you look at it, it’s crazy, and scary, and surprisingly not a lot of people are talking about it. I say surprisingly because of the whole Reverend Wright/Obama thing which got oodles of air time and ink (both virtual and on paper). I’m not saying hypocrisy or double standard, I’m just wondering why there hasn’t been more made of this. Not the witchcraft thing per se, but the antagonistic remarks made by this black preacher man who is obviously just as filled with hate as Reverend Wright, but just in a different way.

Here is an excerpt of this man in action. Go to Youtube to see many, longer videos of him speaking. I defy you not to be scared, and maybe a little amused.
