Sharks Show Resilience

In their game yesterday agains the Philadelphia Flyers the boys in teal overcame a 3-1 deficit to win 5-4 in overtime. The Sharks are now 5-1 for the season, and the Flyers are winless at 0-5. Man, I’d hate to be  a Philly hockey fan right now. It’s still early, but 5 games and no wins is not what I would call a promising start, but at least they got a point for this one because it went to overtime.

Boyle, a the new veteran defenseman on the Sharks scored the game winning overtime goal on a pass from Joe Thornton. Jonathan Cheecoo scored a goal as well, bringing his season total to 4. That’s pretty sweet considering they’ve only played five games, and in one of those five games the Sharks didn’t score a single goal.

They go to Philadelphia next week to start a three game road trip. Again, I hope that they can take the success they’ve had at home on the road and win at least two, if not all three, of the games.

I was fortunate enough to be at the game last and there were a good amount of Philly fans at The Tank. It was definitely an emotionally up-and-down night with Sharks fans leaving on the high note. If you’re interested I wrote about my experience on my blog.
