The Sharks remain perfect at home. They beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 last night, and that is awesome. What is even more awesome is the Sharks limited the Penguins to 11 shots. 11 shots! for 60 minutes of hockey. Freaking awesome. And furthermore, proof that they can play solid defense when Nabakov is in goal, and not just when Boucher is minding the net.
Mike Grier scored the ultimate game winning goal, and that just makes me happier. I really dig that dude, and the effort and experience he brings to the team, and I am glad to see him finally get a goal. Of course, he is not really there to be a top goal scorer–he’s there for leadership and penalty kills–but it’s nice to see him put one in the net and continue to give the coaches and team a reason to keep him around.
